WINTERING

Not been very active, post- or comment-wise recently. Please for no-one to feel snubbed. I am succumbing to the now blindingly obvious and going into hibernation for a while.

the fritz leiber site has one-upped hibernating -- it seems to have vaporized completely.....
mayhaps its doors were shuttered in solidarity with the american writers' guild, which is on strike, but i doubt it. i fear the shadowland is at work.

Sadly even tinternet isn't free from the grasp of that eager boy, Death. A great shame that it's gone.

...more on Fritz, the Lankhmar site is still down unfortunately; it does not look good... I was in a library in Bridgeport, Connecticut just today and came across "The Knight and Knave of Swords", I looked the cover over and discovered something I'd never seen before. On Fafhrd's belt there is a word -- "Exit". Always nice to find something new in something old that you cherish. Being thrilled with the discovery, I sat and read a good chunk of "The Mouser Goes Below". Fabulous stuff. Fafhrd, on the flying ship, engaged in sexual exploits, says (para-phrasing) "in a war of ecstasy I was utterly defeated". Cheers!
